DTS’s Calibration Area awarded two of its Metrology Technicians for their work: Andrés Jorquera, for his high production in 2018, and Juan Pablo Gutiérrez, as the group representative leader. Both attended the courses of Electrical Resistance and Electrical Measurements in Direct Current. The courses were given specially for calibration laboratories by the National Center of Metrology (CENAM) in Mexico.
The Mexican National Laboratory, which is responsible for establishing and maintaining Mexico’s national standards, presented a complete agenda where they discussed the following topics: Electrical Resistance, Correct Measurements in Very High and Low Resistance, and Continuous Voltage and Electric Current.
The participants cataloged the experience as an excellent DTS initiative: “I am really motivated to continue working, researching, and applying what I have learned in the courses in our DTS laboratory,” said Juan Pablo Gutiérrez.
After their return from the training, the technicians shared what they learned with their colleagues, in two one-hour classes. Andrés Jorquera noted: “I really learned a lot; I came home with information that wasn’t known here, and I was able to support my colleagues by sharing this new information with them. In addition, at the end of the course they gave us two days to get to know Mexico. It was a gift from the company, and I am super grateful for that.”
